Nicole grew up in Sequim, where her family roots run deep in the local history. Her grandparents had a prosperous dairy farm just outside of the tiny village of Sequim in the 1950’s. The old family farmstead and house still exist today outside of Sequim on Livengood Lane.
As a young girl, Nicole discovered that she had a love for plants and their healing properties. Through her budding interest she began to read books on the diverse uses and collection of herbs. She began researching various methods in how to use them to create various herbal recipes. In her early 20’s she worked in several nutrition centers over the years. She continues her dedication to the study and use of herbs today as she is currently pursuing her diploma in herbology at the American College of Healthcare Sciences in Portland, Oregon.
Nicole's love of herbs and a healthier way of living ultimately led her to create Botanical Touch. The shop is a tiny oasis in a great historical building in the middle of downtown Sequim, Washington.
The shop has lovely old barn-wood and bare plank shelving, which is reminiscent of days gone by when Sequim was still a small farming community. As you venture through the doors, the rich aromatic scents of herbs and teas surround you and lead you inside for a better look at our extensive selection of teas, herbs, salts and spices on one side of the shop. The other side of the store is filled with high quality herbal and natural supplements, beauty care products and excellent lines of silk and mineral makeup.
Nicole's goal was to create a space where people will be able to feel cared about when they are here and refreshed when they leave. Due to the intimate size, she has been able to create a space where people can feel comfortable spending time, whether it is shopping, a class or a quick visit.
